To Shirley, our leader, from seven years past;
Our love with you now, please do take,
And please be assured, that our love will still last,
Whatever the changes you make.
We know it is time, that you have to leave,
To move on to pastures anew;
And though this is cause for our hearts to grieve,
We know God has plans just for you.
For He has your hours and minutes marked out,
In a way that He wants you to go;
And if ever you’re troubled by fear or by doubt,
His faithfulness, He’ll willingly show.
You’re more than a shepherd to your little flock
You’re a friend as each member can tell;
So each time you stop to look at this clock,
We hope you’ll remember us well.
As its hands move around and the hours go by,
And your life takes another new turn,
We hope like the eagle, you’ll soar as you fly,
And more trust in our Lord you will learn.
So though we will miss you and wish you could stay,
There’s only one thing left to tell;
To say that we love you, and will do always,
And to bid you a fond, sad, farewell.
