Next time you venture for a walk,
Just listen to some people talk,
Hear tales of joy and tales of woe,
The talk will vary, where ‘ere you go.
Take a look at what you see,
How people differ from you or me;
Some tall, some short, some in between,
And most are seldom what they seem.
That grumpy, grouch; - may be in pain,
Or lost a loved one, yet again;
His heart be breaking, near in two;
And so he takes it out on you.
The mum who won’t correct her child,
And lets the ‘little beast’ run wild;
Perhaps the pet is really ill,
And she’s just glad to have him still.
How easily we judge a scene,
Not knowing what’s to be – or been,
For everyone has cause to care,
And often not a place to share.
And those who might ‘offend the eye’,
Or cause a caring one to cry,
Are still God’s people, we are told,
For after each, He broke the mould.
Although their looks may not please you,
God’s Word says He sees right through,
He sees the beauty that’s within,
And washes off all trace of sin.
Man judges by the outward form,
Upon the ‘ugly’, oft’ pours scorn,
Forgets that when God’s plans were laid,
He said we’re fearfully, wonderfully made.
Before you judge, or put to scorn,
Remember, each was a baby, born
With the breath of God, to live and grow,
Until their Lord, they came to know.
And just like you, their hearts feel pain,
As they see, in your eyes, rejection again,
So look again, with the eyes of God’s love,
And see the reflection, of your Father, above.
Each person you see, and that includes you,
Is a mirror of God, made in His image too,
So if you think some of you, ‘don’t make the grade’,
Remember; you’re wonderfully, fearfully, made.
